With captain Glenn and Simon spectating , the home team were ready . The glasshouse arrived in thier droves ,pleasantries exchanged the draw made so on to the match.
First to the board were Craig Stretch (Fod) and Mark Preece , a slow start from both players ensued then Fod managed a couple of tons ,giving him breathing space to take the leg in 25 darts, the second leg was very similar 2 tons from Fod and Mark still not finding any rythm , Fod taking the leg in 27 darts .The third and what was to be the final leg Fod started well with 140,121,83 and continued to take the leg in 21 with Mark hitting a red score in this leg .

Next up we had Colin Smith v Dan Taylor , this was to be a five legged affair with Dan taking the first leg against the darts after Smiffy had just hit 140 to leave himself waiting on 38,Dan then went further ahead holding his throw this time Smiffy waiting on 32.Dan had no answer to Smiffy in the third leg though with him hitting a ton and a maximum and taking the leg in 19 darts.The fourth leg saw Smiffy tie the game after Dan had missed his opportunity on double 4 to kill him off . Smiffy then held his throw in the deciding leg hitting his third 140 along the way.
Colin av 21.36   1x180,3x140,4x100
Dan av 19.03   4x100
Third saw an entertaining battle between Richard (Jaffa) Cummings and Colin Robinson with niether player hitting a red score in the first leg Colin took the lead ,There was not a lot he could do to build on this in the next leg as he only got to throw 12 darts , Jaffa taking the leg in 14 scoring 121,100,44,140&96/2. It was then a case of after the lord mayor's show with the only red score in this leg going Colin's way as he took the leg with Jaffa sitting on 16.Jaffa then started the next leg with 100 , Colin with 116 but it was Jaffa who took it in 22 to take it to a fifth leg. It has to be said that Jaffa did have a score of 45 in this leg on his third visit to the board but this was his only poor throw as he also hit 3x100 and to cap off a fine 15 darter he had a superb 156 checkout .(the lord mayor was pleased)
Jaffa av 22.32   1x140,6x100&156outshot
Colin av 17.22   2x100
Next we had Dougie(Crouch)Thompson against Chris Allen the first leg was a close one where the end of the leg saw Doug hit 80&117 to leave 32 Chris replied with 100&82 to also leave 32 but Doug used his advantage to take the leg in 24 darts, he then hit two more tons as he also took the second leg in 24 ,the third and final leg saw Doug score heavy with three tons and a140 and he eventually finished in 19 darts.
Dougie av 22.43 (MoM)   1x140,7x100
Chris av 19.35   2x100
Last to play were Neill Parker and Graham Preece , it wasGraham who started this one stronger taking the leg in 19 darts with a 120 and 38 in 1 with his final four darts ,Neill hitting a 140 during the first leg did not hit any red scores in the second but with Graham missing six darts to take the second Neill stole in to take the leg with just one dart at his to level things up . Graham again looked favourite to take the next leg after hitting a 140 but Neill had other ideas winning the leg calmly finishing on 96.Both players hit two red scores in the next leg  , but again it was Neill that hit the winning double to give The White Hart thier first 5-0 win of the season.
Neill av 20.46   1x140,2x100
Graham av 21.01 (MoM)  2x140,5x100

EMERALD CLUB Vs CHESLYN HAY.

Hello, good evening and welcome. Yes, a very hearty and warm welcome to another great report live from your own house. Isn’t it marvellous, all you have to do is plug in and press a few buttons and the world is your oyster. You can go all over the world in a matter of seconds or watch your favourite T.V. programmes or listen to your best C.D.’s. But instead you much rather prefer to sit and read this dribble, well what more can I say?
 Tonight we’re at home playing hosts to a team who are, not only old rivals but are also very good friends. Yes, they may come all the way from the other side of the red town, and they also may be part of the “village community”, but it feels like that they are the next best thing to playing your neighbours. You know the ones; the people who grow their hedges too high and play loud music and never speak to you. Only joking, they’re great people. I am talking about the Cheslyn Hay, of course.
 First the team news; tonight we have the bare five. With Whizz, Tiger, Hitman, Railings and myself present, it doesn’t take a genius to work out who’s missing. But just in case Neil Pointon is reading; it’s Badger. Yes, Badger has once again gone on a mission. This time no-one knows where. I am, of course curious though, isn’t it strange that the week that the new James Bond film is out Paul “Badger” Wright is not in sight! Mind you his number would probable be 070, just in case he couldn’t remember his age. He would have to visit HQ, which would have to have Stenner stair lifts fitted, and the secretary would be called Money-groats. The head of department would be called A, beings they would have only just started on the alphabet, and of course there wouldn’t be Q just yet, he would just be called Colonel.
 So with the draw completed, here’s what happened;
The 1st match is between; Simon “Hitman” Astle and Chris Stanley.
All five legs were used in the making of this match, but as far as I know, no animals where intentionally hurt. The first two legs went against the throw; this included a 180 off Hitman. Chris took his time in the first leg, I would like to think it was because the team arrived a week late but it was probably due to the cold weather. On taking the 3rd leg Chris went into a 2-1 lead, but this was short lived as Simon came bounding back to even it all up. The deciding leg could have been anyone’s, well what more would you expect. Eventually it was Hitman who found his double, not for the lack of trying off Chris, and the Emerald go one nil up.
 The 2nd match is between; Trev “TC” Carter and Scott Stanley. (Yes, another one of the clan, and we haven’t finished yet!).
This was a “quickie”. Only 3 legs used and a fare performance off both players considering. I know Scott won’t agree, but when you hear that all it would have took was a miss in the first 2 legs and Scott had a chance to steal, then it suddenly becomes a closer game doesn’t it. The 3rd leg was a bit different, TC went up a notch, and with his own maximum, followed by 100 and then 123, I hope Scott won’t mind when I say it was a little one sided. You did get to half way though Scott.
 The 3rd match was between; Jim “Tiger” Harrison and Ian Jones.
This was to be a four leg game, with the away player the victor. Jim didn’t win a leg until the 3rd, and this was a “need to hit” 90 because Ian was sitting on 108. Ian took the first two legs, and in these legs he hit red scores only once in each. Jim went one better in these legs but couldn’t finish and Ian was more than willing to step in. The last leg was the longest leg of the evening so far, and both players failed to finish with any brilliance. The eventual winner was Ian, who probably deserved it, if only due to persistence. Jim, at this moment in time is going through a bad patch, but as all great players do, I’m sure he’ll come out of it a much better darter.
 4th game and Tim “Whizz” Whiston faced Craig Stanley.
This game used all 5 legs, all went with the darts, and you don’t need to be special to get that the home player won. Even though there were 16 tons and ton pluses throughout the entire match, it was nothing special. The least darts were 19 in the 3rd leg and the most was 33 in the 2nd leg. The highest finish was 76 by Tim in the last leg and this was a must hit because Craig was sitting on 25 having screwed up his finish. The only positive you can say about this match was the guts and determination of both players. I don’t mean any disrespect of the two darters, but I think both sides expected more.
 5th game and up next are; Mark “Railings” Harvey Vs Steve Gillam.
This was the second shortest game of the evening. Yes, it was only 3 legs long and the away player was the victor, but the home thrower need not be ashamed. In each of the legs Mark left himself on a double. Steve wasn’t going to let him have a go at these, but it was that close. Yes, the 2nd and 3rd legs were on the lengthy side, but maybe because it was only a 3 leg match, it seemed a lot quicker. Mark was disappointed in his performance as was Steve, so you can only feel for both players, knowing that one day it could be you.
 Final score;
                                        EMERALD CLUB 3-2 CHESLYN HAY.

So, yet another lucky win for us. And I mean it when I say lucky. It really could have gone either way, but our luck continues.
And so onto the stats;
